4 slices bread, 2 eggs eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon salt
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the chocolate custard mixture, ensuring both sides are fully coated. Let the excess drip off gently into the bowl.

  3. Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted and bubbling, place the coated bread slices into the pan.
    2 tablespoons butter
  4. Cook the slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy around the edges. Flip gently with a spatula, and listen for a gentle sizzling sound. The surface should be caramelized and slightly firm to the touch.
  5. Remove the French toast from the skillet and transfer to a plate. Repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter if needed. Serve warm, optionally topped with additional chocolate, syrup, or fresh fruit.
