Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to infuse.
Preheat the grill or grill pan to medium-high heat until hot, with clear grill marks appearing after about 5 minutes.
Remove the chicken from the marinade, shaking off excess, and place on the hot grill. Cook for approximately 6-8 minutes per side, or until the chicken is cooked through with internal temperature reaching 165°F (75°C) and visible char marks.
Use tongs to flip the chicken and cook the second side until evenly charred and juices run clear.
