Ingredients

  • 2 cups water preferably filtered or spring water
  • 2 pods vanilla beans split lengthwise to release more aroma
  • 3 sticks cinnamon sticks preferably whole for a richer scent

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Wooden Spoon

Method

  1. Pour the water into a saucepan and place it over medium heat.
  2. Add the split vanilla beans and cinnamon sticks to the water, ensuring they are partially submerged.
  3. Gently bring the water to a simmer, hearing a soft bubbling and noticing the fragrant aroma beginning to develop.
  4. Reduce the heat to low to maintain a gentle simmer without boiling strongly, stimulating the release of essential oils.
  5. Allow the mixture to simmer uncovered for about 15 to 20 minutes, watching as the water level gently decreases and the aroma intensifies.
  6. Turn off the heat once the water is infused with a strong vanilla-cinnamon scent and the pods and sticks look slightly swollen.

Notes

You can add slices of orange or cloves for extra warmth. Refill with water as needed to keep the aroma going for hours.
