Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups cubed ripe watermelon seedless or de-seeded
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 10-12 fresh mint leaves mint leaves optional for garnish and flavor
  • to taste pinch of salt optional, enhances flavor
  • 1-2 cups cold water adjust for desired consistency

Method
 

  1. Prepare the watermelon by cutting it into 1-inch cubes on a cutting board using a sharp knife. Remove seeds if necessary.
  2. Add the cubed watermelon to the blender, along with lime juice, mint leaves, a pinch of salt, and 1 cup of cold water. Secure the lid tightly.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and slightly frothy, about 30-40 seconds, with no large chunks remaining.
  4. Pour the blended watermelon through a fine mesh strainer into a serving pitcher, using the back of a spatula to press the liquid through and remove pulp and seeds.
  5. Add additional cold water to the strained liquid to reach your preferred consistency, then stir gently to combine. Adjust sweetness or salt as needed.
  6. Pour the agua fresca into glasses filled with ice and garnish with extra mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately, cold and refreshingly vibrant.

Notes

For a slightly sweeter drink, add a teaspoon of honey or agave syrup before blending. You can also add a splash of sparkling water for effervescence.
