Ingredients

  • 1 cup watermelon chunks preferably from slightly overripe fruit
  • 2 ripe peaches firm but juicy, optionally peeled
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika optional, for smoky flavor
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Equipment

  • Chef's Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Peel the peaches if desired and cut them into bite-sized cubes using a chef's knife and cutting board. Arrange the diced peaches on a clean surface alongside the watermelon chunks for easy access.
  2. Place the watermelon chunks and peach cubes into a large mixing bowl. Gently toss to combine, ensuring an even distribution of fruit.
  3. Sprinkle smoked paprika over the fruit mixture, then add salt and black pepper to taste. Use a spoon or spatula to gently toss again until evenly coated. Observe the slight smoky aroma and vibrant color contrast.
  4. Transfer the salad to a serving dish or bowl. Optionally, sprinkle additional black pepper or paprika for presentation. Serve immediately or chilled for up to 30 minutes to enhance flavor.

Notes

This salad is best enjoyed fresh to preserve the texture of the peaches and watermelon. Adjust spice levels according to taste preferences.
